OMC Community Awareness, Education & Service Program
- A SELFLESS INITIATIVE TO IMPACT LIVES
With compassion and faith in their hearts and the motto of
’’We RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS in their minds, the students of Osmania Medical
College, have come together with the purpose of forming a club that is directed
towards community outreach, social service and awareness.
- The main purpose behind starting this club was to give the students of Osmania Medical College a taste of how community service works amidst the hustle of medical curriculum. The club was acknowledged and approved by Dr. P. Shashikala Reddy ma’am in November.
- Since then, many activities have been organised through this club on the occasion of AIDS day on December 1st. Students of different batches formed teams and conducted interactive awareness programs in 12 educational institutions across Hyderabad, including schools, junior colleges and universities. To portray the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS and to empower the young medicos to identify and speak against it, a colloquium was organised in the auditorium of the college in which skits, theatrical performance, narrations and speeches grabbed the attention of the housefull audience.
- With each step that it takes, this humble club manifests that, “OMC CARES”.
